Abstract
''Teenagers who drink heavily and often may be [more] susceptible to the neurobehavioral effects of alcohol than would adults with similar drinking experiences.''

Kids are starting to drink at an earlier age for many reasons: in, wanting to be cool, wanting fit in, wanting to escape the misery at home with so many dysfunctional families, just 'cause it's there.
The reality is that alcoholism is a disease. It's not something for which you can just take two aspirin and call the doctor in the morning. It is a lifelong process to abstain from that one will never be enough. Alcoholism has four symptoms:
*Craving. A strong need, or compulsion, to drink.
*Impaired control. The inability to limit one's drinking on any given occasion.
*Physical dependence. Withdrawal symptoms, such as nauses, sweating, shakiness, and anxiety, when alcohol use is stopped after a period of heavy drinking.
*Tolerance. The need for increasing amounts of alcohol in order to feel its effects.
